MY 1ST GARDEN

Remember when I said that my herb garden opened up another can of worms well it did and here it is.

MY FIRST VEGGIE & FRUIT GARDEN!!!!

(on the picnic table so our dog doesn't get to it)

1ST: WANTED ORGANIC
2ND: WANTED TO START SMALL
3RD: SOMETHING EASY TO MAINTAIN
4TH: A WAY FOR THE KIDS TO GET INVOLVED

I searched online how to start a patio garden or veggie container garden and this is what I found.

You want a type of veggie suitable for growing in small spaces or containers "pots".

KEY WORDS TO LOOK FOR:

Cucumbers: Salad Bush Hybrid, Spacemaster, Bush Pickle

Eggplant: Bambino, Slim Jim

Green Beans: (Pole beans give a higher yield in a small footprint) Blue Lake, Kentucky Wonder, French Dwarf

Green Onions: Beltsville Bunching, Crysal Wax, Evergreen Bunching

Leaf Lettuce: Buttercrunch, Salad Bowl, Bibb

Peppers: Frigitello, Cubanelle, Sweet Banana, Apple (Hot) Red Cherry, Jalapeno, Robustini

Radishes: Cherry Belle, Scarlet Globe, (White) Icicle

Squash: Ronde de Nice, Gold Rush

Tomatoes: Patio, Pixie, Tiny Tim, Saladette, Toy Boy, Spring Giant, Tumbling Tom, Small Fry

I ALSO PLANTED OTHER VEGGIE AND FRUIT THAT WASN'T ON THE LIST AND THEY ARE DOING GREAT. Brocc., strawb., brussel, bell peppers, blue berries, ect. so don't be afraid to try.

Lowes had a great selection off this list and more.

NOW LET'S TALK DIRT!

I wanted organic so Walmart carried larger bags than lowes of the MIRACLE GROW ORGANIC POTTING MIX (make sure it is for a container garden not a ground garden it makes a difference if your not sure ask)

Last but not least I have no green thumb by no means so don't be affraid to try, like I said start small and enjoy it.

HAPPY GROWING EVERYBODY!!!!!!
